Dubai: Dubai Health has started introducing a new smart parking management system across its facilities, with Rashid Hospital becoming the first location in the rollout from September 21, 2026.
The new system is being implemented in partnership with Parkin Company and is designed to manage hospital parking digitally while maintaining free parking for patients receiving healthcare services. Dubai Health said the changes follow feedback from patients and visitors about access and parking.
For patients attending emergency care, consultations, laboratory appointments, walk-in services or ongoing treatment, parking remains free for the duration of their visit, according to the details announced for the rollout.
How the Rashid Hospital parking system works
The first phase at Rashid Hospital introduces different arrangements depending on why a person is visiting the facility.
Visitors coming to see patients can receive up to three hours of free parking once a day after providing the relevant patient details at the hospital reception.
For admitted patients, two companions can park free for up to 24 hours. Extensions can be provided where required, according to Dubai Health.
The system will also recognise hospital staff and authorised vehicles, allowing them to access the facility without going through the same visitor process.
People of Determination, senior citizens and pregnant women will continue to have access to complimentary valet parking after their eligibility has been verified.
A 30-minute daily grace period will also be available for motorists using the hospital for pick-up and drop-off purposes. Drivers who are not visiting Dubai Health facilities will be subject to standard parking charges.
Parkin to manage parking operations
Under the agreement, Parkin will oversee parking operations at Dubai Health facilities and introduce digital parking technologies.
The company said the system is intended to improve access, manage available parking capacity and reduce congestion around healthcare facilities. Optional services planned at participating sites include valet parking, car-wash facilities and electric-vehicle charging.
Dubai Health Chief Operating Officer Khalifa Baqer said the collaboration followed feedback from patients and visitors and was intended to improve their parking experience through digital solutions.
Parkin Chief Operating Officer Osama Hashim Alsafi said healthcare facilities require reliable access and that the technology would be used to manage parking capacity and the arrival experience.
Rollout begins at Rashid Hospital
Rashid Hospital is the first Dubai Health facility named in the rollout, with the new system beginning there on September 21.
