Hanuman Ansh crosses ₹300 crore worldwide, ranks third among 2026 Hindi hits

Mumbai: Hanuman Ansh has crossed the ₹300 crore mark at the worldwide box office, completing an extraordinary turnaround for the devotional drama after a modest start in Indian theatres.

The Vishal Chaturvedi-directed film recorded a worldwide gross of approximately ₹300.25 crore by Day 41, according to figures reported from industry tracking data. Its India net collection stood at about ₹237.13 crore, while the India gross was around ₹280 crore, with overseas earnings taking the worldwide figure beyond the ₹300 crore threshold.

The milestone comes six weeks after the film opened on August 7 with a reported first-day collection of only ₹10 lakh. Its early theatrical performance was comparatively subdued, but audience recommendations and growing interest in the film helped its collections accelerate sharply from the third week onwards.

A slow start turned into a sustained theatrical run

Hanuman Ansh collected around ₹1.08 crore in its first week and a further ₹40 lakh in its second week, leaving its first 14 days at roughly ₹1.48 crore.

The trajectory changed considerably during the third week. The film’s collections began climbing as audience interest spread, with its third-week business reaching about ₹10.4 crore. It then recorded substantially stronger numbers in its fourth and fifth weeks.

Its sixth weekend was another major contributor. The film reportedly collected ₹10.50 crore on its sixth Friday, ₹18.50 crore on Saturday and ₹22.50 crore on Sunday. It then added ₹8.25 crore on Monday and another ₹8.25 crore on Tuesday before earning approximately ₹6 crore net in India on its 41st day.

The overseas release also contributed to the latest milestone. The film’s international rollout began on September 11, with overseas earnings adding to its worldwide total.

Third-highest Hindi grosser of 2026

Before reaching ₹300 crore, Hanuman Ansh had already moved into the third position among the highest-grossing Hindi films worldwide in 2026.

On Day 39, its worldwide gross was reported at ₹279.80 crore, putting it ahead of Mirzapur: The Movie and Bhooth Bangla. At that point, Dhurandhar 2 and Border 2 remained ahead of it.

The latest ₹300 crore milestone does not change that position. Current reports continue to identify Hanuman Ansh as the third-highest-grossing Hindi film worldwide for the year.

Film based on Neem Karoli Baba

The film is based on the life of spiritual figure Neem Karoli Baba, also known as Maharaj Ji. Chaturvedi directed the film, with Shobhinaw Satyaa playing Neem Karoli Baba.

Reports have put the production budget at around ₹2 crore or slightly below that figure, although the exact budget varies between published reports. Because budget figures are not consistently reported across sources, the return-on-investment comparisons should be treated as estimates rather than audited financial figures.

The film’s unusual box-office trajectory has also attracted attention from within the Indian film industry. Actor Prithviraj Sukumaran commented publicly on the film’s success as it approached the ₹300 crore milestone.

Dubai audience adds to overseas interest

The film’s international performance also has relevance for Gulf audiences. Business Today reported strong interest in Dubai, including sold-out late-night shows, as Hanuman Ansh continued its overseas run.

With the worldwide collection now above ₹300 crore, the film has moved well beyond the scale suggested by its opening-day numbers. Its run also illustrates how a film can build theatrical momentum several weeks after release rather than relying primarily on its opening weekend.

For now, Hanuman Ansh remains behind Dhurandhar 2 and Border 2 on the 2026 worldwide Hindi box-office chart, while its own theatrical run continues.
