The film’s biggest achievement came much earlier in its theatrical run.
Brand New Day opened domestically with approximately $360 million, surpassing the $357 million opening of Avengers: Endgame and establishing a new record for the biggest US/Canada opening weekend. The film has since remained at the top of the North American box office for six consecutive weekends. That is its own notable milestone, with the current run representing the longest stretch at No. 1 since Avatar: The Way of Water in 2022.
Another record followed in September. The movie reached the $900 million domestic threshold in 36 days, making it the fastest film to achieve that figure. Star Wars: The Force Awakens, which previously held the record, took 50 days.
Spider-Man’s biggest film yet
The performance also marks a major step up for Tom Holland’s Spider-Man series.
Holland’s previous three films had already established the character as one of Hollywood’s most reliable blockbuster franchises. Spider-Man: Homecoming earned around $335 million domestically, followed by $391 million for Far From Home and $815 million for No Way Home.
Brand New Day has now passed all three in North American earnings and has also moved beyond No Way Home‘s worldwide total of about $1.92 billion.
Its current worldwide haul of roughly $2.4 billion makes it the highest-grossing Spider-Man film to date.
The result is particularly striking because No Way Home benefited from the return of Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield as earlier versions of Spider-Man. Brand New Day, by contrast, is establishing a new chapter around Holland’s Peter Parker following the events of that film.
Endgame remains ahead globally
The phrase “beating Endgame” needs some qualification.
Brand New Day has overtaken Endgame domestically, but it has not surpassed the 2019 Marvel blockbuster worldwide.
As of September 8, the North American rankings are led by Star Wars: The Force Awakens at approximately $936.6 million, followed by Spider-Man: Brand New Day at about $923 million and Avengers: Endgame at roughly $858 million.

Reuters reported that the US summer 2026 box office generated about $4.6 billion between May and August, up 26 per cent from the previous summer. Spider-Man: Brand New Day, The Odyssey and Toy Story 5 were among the major films driving the stronger season.
For Sony and Marvel, the immediate question is whether Brand New Day can close the remaining gap to The Force Awakens domestically.
With approximately $923 million already collected in North America, the film is only about $13.6 million short of the $936.6 million mark. Whether it can ultimately claim the domestic record will depend on how long audiences continue returning to cinemas as the fall release calendar becomes more competitive.
For now, its position is clear: Spider-Man: Brand New Day has not beaten Avengers: Endgame everywhere, but in the US and Canada it has already rewritten the ranking.
