JK Cement has expanded its UAE manufacturing footprint with the launch of local production for its JK Profix construction chemicals business at a new facility in Ras Al Khaimah.
The plant, operated by JK DryChem Industries LLC, is located in the Al Ghail Industrial Zone within Ras Al Khaimah Economic Zone (RAKEZ). The 5,000-square-metre facility is designed to manufacture construction chemicals and additives for the UAE and wider regional market.
The facility was officially inaugurated on September 3, according to RAKEZ and the Emirates News Agency (WAM). A separate company event in Dubai on September 8 marked the JK Profix division’s formal launch and the start of full in-house production at the Ras Al Khaimah operation.
What the Ras Al Khaimah facility will produce
JK DryChem’s new plant will manufacture several categories of construction products, including liquid admixtures, prepared additives, dry-mix materials and coatings.
These products are used across construction applications where materials are required to improve performance, protection, finishing or other properties of concrete and building surfaces. JK Cement already markets JK Profix solutions in areas including waterproofing, surface treatment, refurbishment, flooring, bonding and tiling.
For the company, local manufacturing changes the way these products can be supplied to customers. Instead of relying entirely on production outside the UAE, JK Cement now has a dedicated manufacturing base in Ras Al Khaimah that can support regional distribution.
UAE and GCC markets are the initial focus
JK Cement said the facility will initially serve customers in the UAE and GCC, while exports to Africa and other international markets are planned as the business expands. Its location within RAKEZ also gives the operation access to Ras Al Khaimah’s industrial and logistics infrastructure.
The move builds on JK Cement’s existing presence in the UAE. The company’s Fujairah operations have been supplying cement products in the country for years, while JK Profix construction chemical solutions were introduced to the UAE market before the new Ras Al Khaimah manufacturing operation came online.
RAKEZ had previously announced an AED 6 million investment by JK DryChem Industries in the new facility. At that stage, the 5,000-square-metre plant was planned as a regional production hub for advanced construction chemicals and additives.
A broader push into construction chemicals
The Ras Al Khaimah investment is part of JK Cement’s wider effort to diversify beyond its traditional cement business.
The company has been expanding its JK Profix portfolio to cover specialised construction applications. Its UAE product range includes waterproofing systems, bonding products, flooring solutions, refurbishment materials and surface treatments.
JK Cement’s own corporate disclosures also identify JK DryChem Industries LLC as a wholly owned subsidiary of JK Cement Works (Fujairah) FZC, linking the new business to the group’s established UAE operations.
At the Dubai launch event, JK Cement Group Managing Director Dr Raghavpat Singhania said local manufacturing would improve the company’s proximity to customers and strengthen its supply capabilities.
The company’s UAE operation is headed by Amit Kothari, who is CEO of JK Cement UAE and CEO and Director – UAE & Africa Business of JK DryChem Industries, according to the launch and RAKEZ announcements.
Why Ras Al Khaimah matters
The choice of Ras Al Khaimah gives JK Cement a manufacturing base within one of the UAE’s established industrial zones while keeping the business close to regional markets.
For construction-material suppliers, local production can provide a more direct route to customers and reduce reliance on long-distance supply arrangements. The new facility also gives JK Cement a base from which it can develop its export business as production and market coverage expand.
RAKEZ said the investment adds new production capabilities to the emirate’s industrial base and strengthens regional supply chains.
For UAE construction companies, contractors and other professional buyers, the immediate significance is the availability of a broader locally manufactured construction-chemical offering from a company with an established cement presence in the country.
JK Cement’s next phase will be to build the new manufacturing operation’s customer base in the UAE and GCC while developing the export opportunities identified for Africa and other international markets.
