Drishyam 3 box office: Ajay Devgn film makes Rs272.80 crore in 3 days

Ajay Devgn’s Drishyam: The Conclusion did not slow down after its opening days. It earned Rs61 crore net in India on Sunday, October 4, up 14 per cent on Saturday’s Rs53.50 crore, according to figures from trade tracker Sacnilk.

The three-day India net stands at Rs176.50 crore, with a domestic gross of Rs211.80 crore. Add Rs61 crore from overseas markets and the worldwide gross comes to Rs272.80 crore. That is about Rs2.73 billion, or roughly Dh112 million. The figures are tracker estimates, not producer-confirmed numbers.

The third and last Hindi film in the franchise opened on Friday, October 2. It is Devgn’s biggest opener, and biggest film so far, according to trade reports. In the UAE it opened the same weekend, with VOX, Reel and Novo expected to carry it, though no UAE or Gulf figures have been published yet.

Where it sits in 2026

Only one Hindi release has opened bigger this year. Sacnilk puts Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge at Rs290.94 crore net, which leaves the Drishyam finale second on the 2026 list.

Its own predecessors are now well behind. Early two-day tracking had the film at about Rs177.10 crore worldwide on Saturday night, ahead of what Drishyam 2 managed in its first weekend in 2022. That film opened with Rs64.14 crore over three days, according to Bollywood Hungama.

The Hindi film has also overtaken its Malayalam namesake in worldwide gross. Mohanlal’s Drishyam 3, directed by Jeethu Joseph and released on May 21, had reached about Rs236 crore globally by its 20th day, per Sacnilk. The two films tell different stories. Devgn has said the Hindi version of the third chapter follows its own script rather than adapting the Malayalam one.

Evening shows led the way

Overall Hindi occupancy on Sunday was 64.29 per cent across 17,323 shows. Evening screenings were fullest at 80.46 per cent, ahead of afternoon shows at 72.08 per cent and night shows at 62.23 per cent. Morning shows lagged at 42.38 per cent.

Sacnilk estimates about 69.14 lakh tickets were sold over the weekend. That works out to around 24.58 lakh on Friday, 20.44 lakh on Saturday and 24.12 lakh on Sunday.

What comes next

Monday is the first real test, since weekday numbers show whether word of mouth is carrying the film beyond the release rush. Friday’s release also coincided with the Gandhi Jayanti holiday in India, which trade analysts said would help the opening.

The film has a clear run for now. Gulf News has reported that no major new release arrives until October 16, when Prahaar: The Untold Story of Ujjwal Nikam and Nayyi Navelli open.

Abhishek Pathak directed the film. Tabu, Shriya Saran, Jaideep Ahlawat, Ishita Dutta and Saurabh Shukla are in the cast. Devgn returns as Vijay Salgaonkar, the Goa cable operator at the centre of all three Hindi films.
