UAE petrol, diesel prices rise in October 2026: New rates announced

UAE motorists will pay more for petrol and diesel from October 1 after the UAE Fuel Price Committee announced higher retail rates across all fuel categories for October 2026.

The new prices put Super 98 at Dh4.40 per litre, up from Dh3.80 in September. Special 95 will rise to Dh4.28, while E-Plus 91 will cost Dh4.21 per litre. Diesel will increase to Dh4.80 per litre.

The October rates were announced on Wednesday, September 30, and take effect at petrol stations across the UAE from Thursday, October 1.

UAE fuel prices for October 2026

Fuel September 2026 October 2026 Increase
Super 98 Dh3.80/litre Dh4.40/litre Dh0.60
Special 95 Dh3.69/litre Dh4.28/litre Dh0.59
E-Plus 91 Dh3.61/litre Dh4.21/litre Dh0.60
Diesel Dh4.30/litre Dh4.80/litre Dh0.50

The October figures represent increases of about 15.8% for Super 98, 16% for Special 95, 16.6% for E-Plus 91 and 11.6% for diesel compared with September.

For motorists, the immediate impact will depend on vehicle type, tank size and driving distance. A 60-litre petrol fill, for example, costs Dh36 more with a 60-fils-per-litre increase. For an 80-litre tank, the same increase adds Dh48 to a full fill.

Those calculations are based solely on the announced price difference and do not include any changes in driving patterns or fuel consumption.

How much did UAE fuel prices change?

September’s rates were already higher than those applied in August. The UAE Fuel Price Committee had set Super 98 at Dh3.80, Special 95 at Dh3.69, E-Plus 91 at Dh3.61 and diesel at Dh4.30 for September.

October therefore marks another increase across every fuel category.

The latest Super 98 price is also above the Dh3.95-per-litre level recorded in June, while October diesel at Dh4.80 is above the Dh4.69-per-litre level reported for April and May earlier in 2026.

Why do UAE fuel prices change each month?

The UAE uses a monthly fuel-pricing mechanism that adjusts retail petrol and diesel prices in line with prevailing trends in global energy markets.

The Fuel Price Committee reviews the rates toward the end of each month before announcing prices for the following month. The September announcement, for example, was issued on August 31 and took effect on September 1.

That means movements in international crude markets can influence the cost motorists ultimately pay at UAE fuel stations, although a single day’s oil price does not by itself determine the monthly UAE retail rate.

What does the October increase mean for drivers?

The higher rates will affect motorists across Dubai, Abu Dhabi and the other emirates from October 1.

For private car owners, the additional cost will be most noticeable for people who fill larger tanks or drive long distances regularly. The impact will also vary depending on whether a vehicle uses Super 98, Special 95 or E-Plus 91.

Commercial operators using diesel may face a different cost impact because fuel is a recurring operating expense for transport and logistics businesses.

The October announcement comes after international oil markets experienced significant volatility during September. Reuters reported that Brent crude settled at $105.28 a barrel on September 28, amid continuing concerns about supply disruptions and developments affecting Middle Eastern oil flows.

For UAE consumers, however, the relevant figure from October 1 is the rate formally approved by the Fuel Price Committee rather than short-term movements in global crude prices.

When do the new UAE fuel prices take effect?

The October 2026 fuel prices take effect October 1, 2026.

Motorists should therefore expect the new rates to apply when purchasing petrol or diesel from the start of the new month.

The four October prices are:

  • Super 98: Dh4.40 per litre
  • Special 95: Dh4.28 per litre
  • E-Plus 91: Dh4.21 per litre
  • Diesel: Dh4.80 per litre

The UAE Fuel Price Committee said the monthly review reflects prevailing global energy-market trends.
