Air Arabia to resume daily Ras Al Khaimah–Kozhikode flights from October 16

RAS AL KHAIMAH: Air Arabia will resume daily nonstop flights between Ras Al Khaimah International Airport and Kozhikode in Kerala from October 16, restoring a direct air connection between the UAE emirate and the South Indian city.

The airline announced the route resumption on October 6. The service is expected to give passengers travelling between Ras Al Khaimah and northern Kerala another direct option without the need to connect through another airport.

The route links Ras Al Khaimah with Kozhikode, also known as Calicut, a major city on Kerala’s Malabar Coast. For passengers based in Ras Al Khaimah and surrounding parts of the UAE, the reinstated service provides a direct connection to Kerala.

Daily flights from October 16

Air Arabia said the Kozhikode service will operate daily, beginning October 16.

The airline has not released further schedule details in its announcement, including specific departure and arrival times. Travellers should therefore check the carrier’s booking system or contact Air Arabia before planning their journey.

Air Arabia said tickets can be booked through its website, call centre and travel agencies.

The carrier’s own website lists Ras Al Khaimah and Kozhikode among its booking destinations, although fare and availability information can vary by travel date.

More connectivity from Ras Al Khaimah

The restored Kozhikode route adds to Air Arabia’s existing network from Ras Al Khaimah.

According to the airline, its nonstop destinations from the emirate include Cairo, Islamabad, Lahore and Peshawar. Ras Al Khaimah International Airport also lists Air Arabia among its passenger-airline operators.

The airport currently handles several India-bound services, underlining the importance of the emirate as an alternative departure point for passengers travelling between the UAE and the Indian subcontinent. Its live flight information includes services to destinations such as Calicut, Kochi, Kannur and Mumbai.

For UAE travellers heading to Kerala, the restoration of another nonstop option could be particularly useful for passengers who prefer departing from Ras Al Khaimah rather than travelling to airports in Dubai or Abu Dhabi.

What UAE travellers need to know

The key change is the return of a daily direct Air Arabia service between Ras Al Khaimah and Kozhikode from October 16.

At the time of the announcement, Air Arabia had not provided a detailed operating timetable. Travellers should confirm flight times, fares, baggage conditions and availability directly with the airline before booking.

The route’s return also strengthens the direct travel links between the UAE and Kerala, where air connectivity is an important part of travel between the two markets.

Air Arabia Group CEO Adel Al Ali said the airline was pleased to resume the connection, describing it as a daily link intended to provide convenient travel between the two cities. He also said the route’s return reflected the carrier’s focus on value-oriented travel options and demand between the destinations.

With the service scheduled to restart on October 16, passengers can now plan for another direct travel option between Ras Al Khaimah and Kozhikode.
